The app for independent voices

3-day weekend. One AI agent. Here's what happened:

My 4-year-old now has a Yosemite flipbook on her iPad - and the entire coloring book is submitted to Kindle Direct Publishing waiting for print approval. From illustrations to cover design to KDP formatting - with a custom app for future coloring book themes...all built over the weekend. That's wild to me.

My family's summer Canada trip app has an interactive map with watercolor portraits of everyone we're going to visit. Our weeknight dinner app now has a meal planner with a smart grocery list - pick your meals for the week, it parses every ingredient, scales for your family size, deduplicates ingredients across recipes, and groups by category. One tap to copy and go.

And we've started codifying my newsletter's brand identity - colors, typography, voice, image styles - all in one place. I'm excited to keep building on it so I can automate the monotonous stuff: asset generation, cropping, drop shadows, all the repetitive visual work that accompanies every post.

None of this existed Friday morning.

Oh - and the kids and I also had a great weekend. Grandparents visited, we hit multiple playgrounds, organized my daughter's bedroom, cooked some new recipes. It's amazing what you can get done when an AI is also working behind the scenes for you.

I keep writing about how the cost of building is trending to zero. This weekend I felt it.
