HELLO UNIVERSE I was invited to my daughter’s crafternoon. A gathering she’s created that brings families together to craft together. It’s lovely. The kids craft, often making process art, the parents craft and chat. There are snacks. It’s two hours on a Friday and feels like a celebration to the end of the school week.

I’ve never gone, but I was going to be there on Friday and needed to bring low level craft (she explained it’s not the time to learn something complicated). I’ve been feeling really heavy around the war(s) in the Middle East and Ukraine, several friends feeling unsettled and the mess of our civic infrastructure nationally.

So I decided to make a Hello Universe box. A place to lay those thoughts. An atheists version of the God Box. I recently listened to @annelamott book Help, Thanks, Wow - the only three prayers you need. And it guided my thinking around thinking good thoughts for a person or situation, having gratitude and experiencing awe and I, too, want to capture and release those things into the universe. And so, here’s my box. Maybe I’ll write a little prayer for you, too.
