In recent days and weeks I’ve read a multitude of posts — on this platform and all over social media — by women who are beyond disappointed at how few men have been “showing up” to stand with women and denounce misogyny.
Especially at a time when some of the most powerful men in the world — and their courtiers and enablers — are engaged in a relentless campaign to roll back women’s basic freedoms and normalize the expression of misogynous beliefs.
I get it. Anti-sexist men’s leadership in the private sphere of family and social networks, and especially in the public realm, has decidedly not “met the moment.” Ever.
