Germans definitely have a sense of humor. “Schiet” is used informally in north Germany for, well… exactly what it sounds like. After a week of nothing but wind and rain in Berlin and Hamburg, I have never felt more seen by a storefront.

As the Germans say: Es gibt kein schlechtes Wetter, nur schlechte Kleidung. There is no bad weather, only bad clothing.
