Race isn't real? That would have been news to the Founders. They never considered Blacks and Indians are potential American citizens. Jefferson saw Blacks as a great threat and wanted them moved across the seas, beyond all danger of mixture. The current situation was his worst fear. He predicted both a Civil War and a Race War if things were allowed to just drift. One down, one on the way.
Race is not the impediment it was in the past.
Why? Because the real conflict in any society is the one between the Haves and the Have-Nots trying to steal what the Haves have.
