Agreed, a beautiful and powerful piece. My only quibble is over the word "Christian": It seems to me that they are not acting in the spirit of Christ. Is that perception wrong?
Stephen, "Christian" can be whatever one wants it to be. The founders realized that religion has no more a place in government than kings do. Democracy is based on only one fundamental meaning.
