These doors which are the east entrance to ‘The Roundhouse’, New Mexico’s Capitol, are not particularly noteworthy but I have always liked the overall effect.
They lead, as you would expect, to the offices of our state government…but, more importantly, for me, they lead to the ‘New Mexico Capitol Art Collection’. Begun in 1992, the collection is displayed throughout the building and represents over 600 New Mexico artists and is open to the public.
I have had the honor of installing many pieces in the permanent collection as well as 2-3 temporary shows a year for 25 years all representing artists from our state.
