‘Smoke’ Aminus3 Photography

The Las Conchas Fire began on June 26, 2011, just west of Bandelier National Monument in Sandoval County, New Mexico. It was started by a tree falling on a power line. In just over a half a day it burned 44,000 acres. Before it was over it had burned over 150,000 acres and threatened Los Alamos National Laboratory and the town of Los Alamos. It has since been surpassed by three fires to be the 4th largest in New Mexico history.

The photos were taken at 15-20 miles from the fire.
