Yes, there is a LOT of bad shit going on. Speaking as an historian, that's pretty much always the case. We may get brief respites of less shit, but humanity is frequently shit. We're in a higher level of shit period right now, and it likely will last for a while.

Another thing about studying history is we learn that people living through such bad shit generally keep on living. Be aware. Be involved. Fight back.
