I encountered such a situation when a group I socialized with turned on me for being a concealed carry permit holder. In my own home at a lunch I was hosting no less! I was made to feel stupid and dangerous to humankind! Of course it was my fault for allowing myself to “feel” that way. But it is amazing how others in the group quickly began to agree with the bullies! We have to be strong in our beliefs. Let’s buoy each other as often as we can.

My sister is anti gun. She said to me why would anyone need a gun? Agreed, but if someone smashes through my door at 2 in the morning and is heading in my direction I rather have a gun even if I don’t need it then need a gun and not have it. In many ways I look at it like a tool.

Of course it is a tool, an extension of yourself, and a potentially very dangerous one, particularly in the dark. Are you going to holler 'Friend or foe?' and give away your position. And shoot blindly at anything that comes near?
