When you worked on DD did any writer or editor run through how Matt’s radar sense would work?

Since he’s not a radar machine (hence, incapable of generating mmWave or Doppler), he must operate like a bat, with echolocation?

But if that’s the case and he’s somehow producing soundwaves—and picking up the echoed signal—with his head, then like a bat he wouldn’t be able to sense anything behind a pane of glass?

(I’m thinking about the only time Matt’s driven a car—that I’m aware of—when he drove Nuke to the Bugle!)
