I don’t wanna be that guy but my spidey sense tells me some of the iconic figures cited in the comments to Dave’s prompt may be remembered to have awe-inspiring entrances because of the very iconic status they subsequently achieved.

Indy is a prime example. When 12-year-old me and my dad went to watch its Malaysian premiere, we only knew this was a hit movie and not much else. I don’t recall feeling anything the first time Ford appeared on screen—in fact it was a low-key hacking through the jungle scene, IIRC.

Now, another movie I, now 30, watched at its premiere when it had not yet caught on fire was The Matrix. And I assure you, that very spidey sense was clamouring in the first ten seconds of Trinity gracing the screennow that, baby, was an entrance!
