Sonny Miller was one of the great documentarians of surf culture and I had the good fortune to travel with him a whole bunch. We called him “Captain Fun” — his cackle was infectious. Primarily known for his films, Sonny was also a crackerjack still photographer. I wrote about him in the latest issue of @surfersjournal, which is always an honor.
