After years of reporting on AI, I've put together this FAQ to answer questions of fact. No opinions, no advocacy, just information about where we stand today in regards to AI and copyright, particularly focused on what the US Copyright Office has said and what current case law says.

I'm sorry to say it, but do not depend on your author friends for information in this regard. These issues are not straightforward and even I have trouble keeping it all straight.
