DeepSeek’s new r1 model was able to take some extremely rough bullet points and generate interesting prose from it (tried 2 styles), pulling its own supporting evidence from a book I only named.
I did a side-by-side test with ChatGPT and Claude, and it isn’t comparable. r1 is a better thinking/brainstorm partner too
even though I expected LLMs to meet/surpass human prose soon, it’s still disorienting to see it starting to happen
