God wants to impress you.
Not in the way we want to impress others, out of insecurity. Rather, he wants to impress us because he knows that nothing else will be as captivating, and therefore, satisfying.
To be created to worship is to be created for wonder.
He wants to impress us with sunrises and sunsets, stars and supernovas, the songs of birds, and the stillness of night.
He wants to impress us in our acts of creation and cultivation, that we would not only be surprised by what we produce, but be amazed that our work could actually be a blessing to this world.
He positions us for wonder when we pray, positioning us to behold his power to deliver when he says yes, or his power to sustain us when he says no.
Indeed, what if the purpose of your whole life was to be wowed, to experience such awe, appreciation, and admiration that you would offer your whole life in response to him?
You were created to worship.
You were created for wonder.
