"Brand" is one of the 7 Powers of enduring business value and ChatGPT appears (and feels like) the current leading horse for AI Brands. Brand matters because it creates economic moats:

1/ Higher perceived value compared to similar offers.

2/ Pricing power (e.g. charge higher prices).

3/ Big barrier to entry because it generally takes years (and money) to build customer trust and loyalty (aka time-intensity).

This is why ChatGPT Memory is a big deal.

It deepens the moat.

The more you use it, the more useful it becomes.

And switching costs grow for the majority of customers.

Combined with their hardware ambitions (e.g. bringing on Jony Ive) and you get an automatic data flywheel (the best data capture is where the customer does not have to do anything, it simply collects — think wearables, health monitoring devices, etc).
