The almost 150 year old completely wooden “salt basin” where the natural 21% salt brine, pumped up from a depth of 1,380 ft, is temporarily stored, before it is boiled down into salt in large salt pans at the Saline Luisenhall in Göttingen, Germany, the oldest still working in original ways pan saltworks in Europe.
