The Redditors are now scoffing at our essays which means in a year they'll be saying that our books are mediocre and in three years they'll be saying that those among us who parlay a Substack presence into gainful employment don't deserve it and in six years they'll be saying that it actually would have been easy for them to be Substack famous in 2025-2026 and that all the ones who made it were just lucky that they were early to market.

The lesson here is that if you're doing anything at all, you're already ahead of the curve.
