How to set up a Codex pet in under 10 minutes:

1. Open a Codex chat (not your terminal — the skill needs to run inside Codex)

2. Run $skill-installer hatch-pet

3. Restart Codex

4. Use the /hatch-pet slash command to generate your first pet

5. Go to Settings → Appearance → Pets to set it as default

6. Run /pet to wake it up

Your pet will live in an overlay at the bottom right of your screen, showing you task status while you work in other apps.

Worth the 10 minutes.
