Cost breakdown of my off-grid place:

• Land: $8,000.

• Cabin: $1,000.

• Outhouse: $50.

• Fill dirt & fence: $3,000.

• Water catchment: $300.

• 500 watts solar: $500.

• Misc: $1,000.

Grand total? UNDER $15,000.

Not saying you've got to live like me. I'm just saying: You rest easier with no utility bills, no mortgage, no noisy neighbors, no B.S. HOA association, & about 1/50th the cost of living.

Note: I live in an area with ZERO property tax. Were I still in the communist US? I'd likely be in a place like Brewster County, TX. Where it's $300 yearly on about 40 acres.

Note-2: If you've got a family? Just build the cabin a little bigger. There are actually more families doing this than single people.
