So many breakthroughs - at the personal and organizational levels - begin with someone willing to say, “I don’t know.” That’s the sound of wonder.

Yet our culture rewards certainty and speed.

The most innovative individuals and teams I’ve worked with are those who protect spaces for not-knowing. That includes playful exploration and open questions. Innovation starts where certainty ends.

And note: From what clients and colleagues are showing me, Generative AI by design seems allergic to saying “I don’t know.” By design, it’s almost incapable of pausing. (I’ve let to test drive curiouser and “reflective ai” admittedly.)
