It’s a moody time of year. There is much more dark than light, and I feel as if my creativity has gone into a kind of stasis. I can still sense it, a small, red ember buried deep in my chest, beneath my warm blankets and puffy coats. But this time of year it’s hard to breathe life into.
So I’m trying to simply be with what is. When the words won’t come, I take to roaming the landscape with my camera, open to what arises from this time of solitude and quiet. As always, the natural world surprises and delights, kindling joy where I least expect it, gently fanning that ember.
