NEW: Senior Hamas official Basem Naim tells me Hamas will not engage in any short term deals ahead of Trump's visit to the Middle East:
"There are desperate attempts underway, ahead of President Trump's visit, to force a partial agreement through tactics of starvation, continued genocide, and threats to escalate military operations. These efforts seek to secure the release of some Israeli captives in exchange for a few days of food and water, without any guarantees from any party regarding a full cessation of hostilities—particularly as Prime Minister Netanyahu has pledged to resume the war in order to complete the objective he declared at its outset, but failed to achieve over the past 18 months: namely, 'total victory and the recovery of the captives.'
"We affirm that such attempts will not succeed in breaking the will of our people or their resistance, nor will they force us to forgo the most critical condition of any agreement: a guaranteed end to the war. "The resistance remains committed to a comprehensive agreement—one that includes a complete cessation of the war and a clear roadmap for the day after."
