Just a few photos as I drove through Hamburg, Iowa the other day. A town of almost 900, it’s known for being the headquarters to Vogel Popcorn, a Popcorn Festival, and flooding.
This town has faced multiple devastating floods, but the folks here are incredibly resilient.
Looking at historical photos of the city shows a vibrant small town that continues, regardless of the flooding.
Check out the Hamburg Reporter website if you get a moment.
It’s an example of a small community like Hamburg putting in big effort to keep people connected.
I love driving through these places, talking to people, imagining a life there.
I’ve lived in Omaha, Nebraska all my life. We are not a huge metropolis, but a million plus isn’t small. I always ask myself: what’s life like in these small towns like Hamburg?
I’ll never truly know.
