Brad-summer?

And just like that, we’re strutting down supermarket aisles in Jimmy Choo’s, pairing striped trousers with polka dot vests and wearing belts everywhere but trouser loops. Miles away from A/W minimalism, this summer has an essence of Bradshaw. In true Carrie style, we’re embracing contradictions this season, whether its through proportions (think hottest hot pants paired with a tent-like trench), dress code (taking ‘pilates to party’ literally with adidas trackies and an open toe stiletto) or drama (throwing together the most unlikely pairs by juxtaposing accents, details and colour).

Following the ‘Brat’ cultural shift of last year, ‘Brad’ summer maintains the beautifully unapologetic chaos of it’s predecessor but with a Prada price tag. Carrie is all us when we splurge a little too hard at the Selfridges seasonal sale and are left with rations until rent’s due. She’s all of us, fighting our way through a situationship with a 6ft-something man. She’s me, a bottle of wine in, sprinting out the restaurant for a street-side cig. The spirit of ‘Brad’ summer is style-first, it’s distracting people from the disarray of your social life with an off-the-runway midi skirt and vintage Gucci belt bag.
