Ages ago, I asked a wee piano student of mine what “octave” and “octopus” had in common. She looked at me earnestly and said, “An octave has 8 notes, and an octopus has 8 testicles.”

My homophones are getting worse. Either that, or my subconscious is becoming more concerning
