Among many others. I personally know a painter whose paintings sell between $10,000-$50,000 dollars, is in museums, featured at Art Basel, etc.. They live in Hollywood and tons of A-listers buy their paintings. They told me if it ever came out they were MAGA that would be it for the career they worked so hard for. That’s the u fortunate nature, but artists exist.

Also so much of this post is a purity test. The TPUSA thing wasn’t mind-blowing. Some of the songs at it were exactly he points out, kitsch patriotism which isn’t long lasting. But lowbrow art has a place, it has a kind of vernacular enjoyed by many. Sure it gets tiring. But not everyone has the taste of Roger Scruton. We all have a primal element to our nature and a silliness to it, and lowbrow is often its organ.

Plus the “sacred” left wing art the last few decades is all a culture of repudiation and “only what’s transgressive” is art. The paintings are formulaic relativism and what has creeped into movies the last few years is destroying Hollywood.

I’m tired of this emo self-loathing on the Right. It shows a a complete ignorance.
