May the 4th Be With You! If you never got the chance to see the original “Star Wars” at The Indian Hills Cinerama or one of its sister Cooper Cinerama Theaters in Denver and Minneapolis, you’ve never really experienced “Star Wars” the way it was meant to be seen.
The theater sat 810 patrons, the screen was curved and 105 foot wide and 35 feet tall. The theater featured an acoustical ceiling with sound baffles on each side of the screen so that the sound was superb no matter where you sat in the theater. Sadly, all three theaters are now gone, but the memories of seeing “Star Wars” there (more than 10 times during the summer of 1977) will stay with me forever.
