HI.
I have no idea who might read this. Two or three at most?
I have been on Substack now since early April. My newletter Realms of Fantasy is perma-free. I have used the newsletter to promote my latest book, but I’ve also posted a variety of other content about writing; and I’m even chronicling my life growing up wild and free on the water in Florida.
I currently have just 76 subscribers. A few have been incredibly nice and responsive, and I appreciate that, for sure.
But my subscriber list has stopped growing.
I’m interactive with other newsletters. I comment on and like a lot of posts every day.
But no growth.
Is it because not many here are interested in epic fantasy? Is it because my content isn’t interesting enough?
Some of you have thousands of subscribers. Me, not so much.
I’m really feeling that I, personally, made a mistake going with Substack and that, for my purposes, I should have gone with something like Mailer Lite.
To the few who might see this post, do you have any reaction or ideas? Am I the only one in this position? Is being perma-free part of the problem?
