Good general rule: if you wish to avoid a horrific war try not to invade your neighbouring state, murder pretty much everyone you can find, rape some of them, torture others, desecrate their bodies while shrieking with joy, kidnap babies (and kill them), video the entire thing, then vow to do it over and over
On October 7th, Ravit Assayag, 19, died after being shot in the mouth while fighting off Hamas for 3 hours. At one point, she entered enemy territory.
"'Ravit insisted on going in first. She was killed but she saved the whole unit", her commander said.
She saved dozens of lives. Remember her name and her heroism

Now it's been confirmed that a bloke in a dress with a Gender Recognition Certificate is not a woman, can we agree that a wind turbine with a Renewables Obligation Certificate is not a dispatchable power station.

National Poling is really tough in Canada because sometimes you don’t pick up on things in the provinces as well as polls should but this seems very very interesting.
I’ve occasionally regarded him as hyperbolic in the past - mainly because the actions of the first Trump term were not matched by Trump’s words and obvious intent. But this term is markedly different. And much much darker.
I was right back in 2016 about who Trump is. It is now catastrophically…
When Trump reversed himself on tariffs, his cabinet secretaries and top aides went on TV to claim this was his plan all along.
“How do these men spout such utter garbage with a straight face? The answer is that they’re in these jobs precisely because they’re the sort of people who can do it. They’re invertebrates.”
Pro-Gaza activists in the UK are telling Muslim voters who to back in local elections, declaring “Allah sees everything”. We already know 40% of Muslims want a Muslim-only party. We must reject this Islamist sectarianism

On Wednesday night, in Kyiv, a suspect attacked with a knife Yuri Makarov, a prominent Ukrainian TV commentator and documentary film maker. The attack happened near his apartment building. Yuri got wounded and had been sent to a hospital for treatment. In the 90th, I worked with him on the same TV station in Kyiv.

I wrote a piece in which I examined the cold hard political reality that Democrats may well be better off talking about tariffs and the economy more and Kilmar Abrego García less.
Avinash: I hope that Knowlton and the other Cal big-wigs have read your article because you are spot-on! I hope that Cal didn't decide to take on over half a billion in debt just so we could join the Mountain West Conference. Joining the Big-10 really is a no-brainer. The big question is, will they have us?
With the debt, I could see a deal being struck between ucla/Regents/State Legislature where ucla pays off the debt as a form of a buyout. If ucla is about to bring in $100 million a year from the Big10 then they could easily afford to pay off our stadium debt.
Golden: Maybe but I can see all of the FUCLA alums, admins, etc. absolutely shitting a brick if they had to pay off OUR debt so they could move somewhere more profitable. Besides, paying off that debt is really incentive for Cal to go all-in with athletics. No more half-ass measures like demoting sports to club level, going the Ivy League route, etc. And don't forget that Cal's portfolio of Olympic Sports (swimming, rowing, soccer, even baseball) are attractive as well. As much as we might like…
The Regents and State Legislature will care about potentially losing money and ucla is a state school. The Regents and State Legislature could give ucla a choice: move to Big10 and pay this debt over x years or we go to court and try to stop you’re move and you’re stuck in a dying Pac12.
Ucla is currently getting $33 million from the Pac12? They will be getting $100 million from the Big10. More than enough money to pay off the debt and still come out ahead.
Golden: If we move to the Mountain West, just burn Memorial to the ground and start over. As Princess Leia said in Star Wars; "Please Big-10, you are our only hope."
This was all about SC football...that’s it. Now that the B1G got it, there’s zero incentive for them to add any other Pac10 school. Not Oregon, not Washington, not Stanford, and definitely not Cal.
They’re thinking Notre Dame, UVA, UNC, GA Tech, etc.
