Most people can’t afford to revolt. They’re tied to the current system through many handcuffs. They’re tied to their jobs, from which they can get a W2, which gives them goodies like mortgages, credit cards and health care. They won’t revolt because they fear losing these things, none of which should be connected to their jobs, but are nevertheless.
These handcuffs don’t just handcuff their actions, they handcuff their minds. They literally won’t think subversive thoughts. It’s too risky because they want to advance in their career. Instead, many go in the other direction, giving full-throated support to causes which their cultural superiors deem worthy. We call these virtue-signalers.
Thus, few people have original thoughts anymore. Most people are parroting that which will keep them in the good graces of the people that pay them.
We live in a weirdly conformist society where even being a rebel has archetypes, down to the manner of dress and music you listen to. This is not an accident. This is the result of the lack of creative thought which results from the mental handcuffs we all have.
