Thanks for this, Siobhan Gallagher! There’s a lot of movies I like and would love for my writing to be like (The Green Knight, various Miyazaki films, Willow, blah blah blah) …

But, it’s probably The Fifth Element. It blends futuro-vibe-based fantasy, classic sci-fi tropes, doomsday space demons, goofy aliens, and more. It’s glorious pulp (Chris Tucker! Blue, opera-singing aliens!) while also trying to touch on some bigger themes.

Anyway, I can’t commit to any one type of writing, so I’m probably as much of a grab bag as that movie.

So I enjoy playing these tag games, and I haven't seen this one done before.

What movie is most like your writing?

Hands down, mine is Army of Darkness (tho I was very close to saying Evil Dead 2). Humor, horror, and action all wrapped up in that pulpy goodness. And like Ash, I have a lot of idiot characters--but they're my idiots.
