Well, it’s achieved one thing: being so obnoxious and incoherent that it forces people like me to start paying attention to what’s really going on. I was pretty disengaged until the Bondi shooting. I then decided to do the work to understand Islamism, the Middle East in general and especially Israel/palestine.
I can now see clearly, what I admittedly suspected all along, to be fair—that the pro-Palestine movement in the West is based entirely on immediate emotional reaction to disturbing scenes from war, and its own moral narcissism. It has no basis in critical thinking or tangible ways forward.
Looking even deeper, the way Hamas has leveraged the West’s retarded moral conscience against itself is frightening. They use Palestinians as shields for themselves, because they want to point to Israel and say ‘they are committing genocide’. They lose the war on the ground, but having young adults walking around believing we need to globalise the intifada is a major victory for them.
Anti-Zionism made me understand why the Jews have been persecuted again and again. People blame EVERYTHING on the Zionists. Zionists apparently own the media and the politicians now. In another era they would have blamed global Jewry or something, and the far right still does that, but the leftists still aren’t willing to admit it. They need their ‘anti-Zionism’ front so they can continue feeling morally pure, and not like the little Nazis they are becoming. The mask will soon come all the way off.
