It makes me think about Greek mythology. The way the Titans overran the naturalistic belief system, then Kronos overran them, then the children of Kronos overran him, however, there is no mythological story of Jesus killing Zeus. Though that would be fun.

This always felt like the story of empire invading and internal rebellion. Rome did fall inside and out because of Jesus. Christian hordes from the outside and Christian rebels from the inside. Christians converted Constantine, the third who converted the whole empire previous to the Christian destruction of it.
