Republicans in Congress should indeed have to answer for Trump's violent rhetoric and pay the price by losing elections. After all, they are the ones who have been enabling and empowering him. They had a chance to convict him - twice - in the Senate and refused. They deserve to be thrown out of Congress.
It really is the American voters that have been enabling and empowering him, not Congress. It is Congress that is following that base. If that base was to have flipped to Nikki, Congress would have followed to that side.
Just remember Jan 7th. Strong words until they realized the base was still with Trump.
