The vitriol with which Signal made his case was shocking to me. He's normally very good at sticking to the facts but he went way over the top impugning Shellenbergers character rather than focusing on the the error.
Shellenberger's response hasn't been perfect either. I was content with aan immediate correction and tweeting about it, even if it was buried at the end of a thread. But then he deleted the tweet which didn't look good
The whole affair feels like a bad faith attack and a bad faith response. Neither came out of it well for me.
