One aspect of masculinity that isn't explored as much as it once was is half-naked inter-species violence. While researching my newsletter 'Advice For Men', I have struggled to find any modern, gender-focused conversations in academia or the media that interrogate themes such as Man vs. Weasels or Man vs. Lizards.

As you can see from these 1950s literary magazine covers, previous generations of men, especially the traumatized veterans of the Second World War, while set in their ways about many things, were nonetheless concerned about bloodthirsty turtle combat. And, frankly, we should be too.

I humbly suggest, no matter how you identify, that you ask yourself, "What would I do if giant crabs attacked me and my hottie?"

And if you're a man, or have ever met one, I'd ask two more questions: are you prepared to fight snakes? Second, have you signed up for my newsletter?
