When the statue began to weep, they called it a miracle. People came from near and far, looking for a healing touch from weeping marble. Almost all left believing they had been changed, but by what?

Science tried to find answers, clues that might lead to a logical explanation for the tears. None were found, and so the sick and infirm continued to come.

Healings were common, but it took a toll, as Mother Mary’s tears turned to black. Her face remained stoic, but she began to rot from the inside out. The healing ended, desperation turning her to dust.
