Regardless of what the so-called experts say, there is no right or wrong way to write a novel, IMHO. Those same experts would be appalled at how I do it. After all, there is only ever one draft in my world. I labor over every damn word and edit page by page as I go. Doing it this way helps me build the story in my head, to the point that when I reach the end, it is done the way I want it. Yes, I read it back a couple of times to find errors, but I know that if I were to start tinkering at that point, I would never ever be done with the damn thing.
