Based on a random comment made by Sam’s Spaghetti this morning, I had an idea for this drabble.

Blind Box

Millie looked disappointed when she unwrapped the gift and found a plain black box. Her parents encouraged her to open the box, which she did, revealing a strange looking bunny doll with “Spawn” written across its chest.

The instructions suggested the doll be placed in water overnight, so Millie’s parents set up a bowl in her room and watched as she placed her new toy inside.

When they entered her room the next morning, they saw their daughter holding the doll, looking like its twin. Black saliva dripped from her mouth as she smiled and sheepishly said, “I was thirsty.”
