One thing I am not going to do as a yoga teacher is bash other forms of exercise or styles of yoga.
I know that controversy and hot takes get clicks. But it’s just adding noise to an already overwhelming landscape.
Are certain exercises more optimal for certain results? Of course they are.
But most of us aren’t struggling with optimal. Not before we’ve mastered the basics.
Around 55–63% (depending on the study) of adults in the UK do not reach the NHS minimum guideline for weekly activity. With time, energy and disability being the most cited reasons.
We are all doing the best we can with the circumstances we’re in.
We don’t need more voices shouting about how this way is the only way and that way is wrong.
If you find something you enjoy, and you can stick to, then go you.
So whether you enjoy walking, trampolining, lifting weights, having a dance in your chair – it’s all good.
And if you want to join us over at Yoga for Tired People, where we do yoga sessions woven into the day without having to get out the mat or change our clothes, then give us a subscribe.
