Putting your phone down and doing some yoga is hard.
But do you know what’s harder?
Being stuck in a doomscroll looking for reassurance that’s never going to come. Cute cat video followed by war followed by snippet of a reality show.
It’s harder to live with a pit of anxiety in your chest, and to be snappy and irritable with your loved ones.
It’s harder to live trapped in your head with your body feeling like an enemy you drag around, disconnected and distant.
It’s harder to break your promises to yourself, annoyed that once more your bed time slips from 10pm to 11pm to 2am. Lying on the couch too tired now to get ready for bed.
So even though it’s hard, if you’ve been promising yourself to do some yoga, then take this as a sign to give yourself a gift and do it.
And do it without any berating or being nasty to yourself.
