There are a lot of regurgitated facts and promises about going alcohol-free that ultimately don’t help people change long-term.

These “facts and promises” lack an understanding of the depth and complexity of the issue. For example, promising a “magical life” by simply removing alcohol is missing the mark.

People need accessible resources that are actually helpful. Quitting drinking isn’t about manifesting a dream relationship, bank account, or body, as many influencers tout. Instead, it’s about repairing, replenishing, and rewiring the depleted biochemistry, trauma response, and severed spirit.

Also, people don’t change through fear, force, or facts (telling people alcohol is a carcinogen isn’t how people decide to stop drinking. That sounds like a DARE campaign from the 1980s).

People change through neurobiological rapport, repetition, and reframe. A comprehensive approach to nourishing the whole body is what’s needed!

A physiology-first, body-based approach (regulating the nervous system and nourishing the brain and stress mechanisms) is the missing link.

That’s the key, in my opinion, to sustaining and maintaining a long-term commitment to living alcohol-free.
