Recently, my wife and I finished the excellent 1-season series FlashForward. In this #ScienceFiction mystery/thriller, everyone on Earth, in a cataclysmic event, gets a glimpse of their future.

The series - with great acting, good writing, and nailbiting cliffhangers - approaches the important question: do we have free will, or are we just playing out a predetermined script?

Particularly, in its portrayal of how committed couples grapple with this most pragmatic of philosophical questions, it illustrates how personally disastrous resigning oneself to predetermination can be.
