📷 I’m a photo editor as part of my day job. Here are 3 tips for better imagery on your Substack posts:
1) 🚫 No AI! NO AI! 🚫 AI is boring, and people already have fatigue from looking at fake humans and scenes. Humans like reality!
2) 🖼️ Dig deep into your camera roll (or stored cloud) for images, and think creatively as you look! What are some visual metaphors in your camera roll? What’s the mood of your post? Thinking this way is so much more satisfying and brain-stimulating than using AI …and you get a photo credit on top of a writing credit 😉
3) 🌗When you’re out walking or otherwise having alone time, keep an eye out for pictures you can take now, to store up for newsletter posts. Even better, schedule photo walks of beautiful and creative places in your life, and snap away!
