Nothing to report, yet everything. A nice 6-mile hike, on a picture-perfect day, with my wife Nancy and our dogs Cash and Penny. There were still a few native azaleas blooming; their scented blooms wafting in the breeze seemed suspended in the air, on their delicate branches. One Piedmont azalea, mostly bloomed out, took my breath away at its size. The double trunks, no longer stems, were easily as large in diameter as my forearms and 12’-15’ tall; beneath them was a carpet of ferns. We passed by a wooden footbridge, a Netted Chain Fern, a chair precariously sitting in water, asking, or daring anyone to sit in it—a quick snap of me walking with my friend and companion, Cash.
