The Super Bowl just happened — and people are still talking about the halftime show.
Some loved Bad Bunny’s set, saying it was a historic, culture-rich celebration that resonated for millions and sparked a global streaming surge.
Others didn’t like it — blasting it as “not American.”
Either way, it’s still in the news, with celebrities praising it as unifying and stars mocking the backlash, and the conversation isn’t going away anytime soon.
Which got me thinking:
If the NFL can stage a Spanish-language cultural milestone like this one, why couldn’t the next halftime show be something even more unexpected — like Bollywood at the Super Bowl?
I just published an essay exploring that idea, a bit about the history of halftime shows, how our personal music tastes evolve (or don’t), and why the Super Bowl might be quietly shifting from universal familiarity → cultural showcase.
