JVL: the walk-off home run for you, I think. My comment: You quote -- "We have to frame the fight against anti-woke and anti-DEI politics as a moral struggle, much like abolitionists did. The distortion of Christianity into something fundamentally opposed to Christ’s teachings should be openly condemned. This cannot simply be about policy preferences; it has to be about right and wrong." In late 1861 Julia Ward Howe has a "vision" that gets published in the Atlantic Monthly in early 1862 -- what we now know as "The Battle Hymn of the Republic." We're all pretty familiar with the first verse but the power of that hymn is in the following verses. The truth IS marching on. No more lies. Never call retreat. "Woke" angers people because the truth about the endemic racism in the history and culture of the United States can be overwhelming. Does it hurt our feelings? Does it make us question our privilege? It should! Or why did thousands die, 1861-1865 and through ensuing Reconstruction and Era of Jim Crow and KKK?
