It’s just as well I work for myself. I’ve just spent an hour an a half on the phone to a certain long standing high street bank, as holder of power of attorney on my mum’s account. During that call I discovered that despite having been fully informed of my dad’s death 5 years ago and clearly being in possession of a copy of the death certificate, having updated the account to Mums sole name, her profile was still showing her as married. That and a couple of other incorrect details meant I couldn’t do certain transactions on the banking app.

I don’t know how you manage dealing with crap like this if you’re in standard office hours employment work, because everything is so damned time consuming.

Next up, make an appointment with Nancy in the dementia care team as she’s offered to help with the form for the next fight with the DWP to attempt to get attendance allowance for my mum. Wish me luck.
